Free Tax Preparation sponsored by the IRS.
There is Free Tax Preparation offered each year through the TCE (Tax Counseling for Elderly) and AARP services. These groups set up locations where you can schedule an appointment and have your tax prepared on-site by trained individuals at no cost to you.

TurboTax & Quicken: If you are preparing your taxes using paid online services such as TurboTax and Quicken see below notes:
Tax Forms can be Imported selecting SEI Investments from the options and entering your Document ID
Qualified Charitable Distributions: If you made a QCD you received an email from our office in January, and need to enter the total QCD value when prompted after you enter your 1099-R.

Review Requirements
Review the requirements for using these services. They will prepare Social Security, TRS payments, investments, Gambling, Pension payments and other common retirement payments.
They do not prepare Schedule C’s, Rental Property Returns, and other deemed complicated tax return items.

Gather Documents
Collect all Tax Documents and contact the location to schedule an appointment time if required. Location phone numbers can be found through the Locator Tools above.
